Should I respond to every comment and message?
Respond to genuine questions, enquiries, feedback, and complaints whenever a reply would help the customer or the wider community. A timely response shows that the account is active and can turn a comment or direct message into a useful conversation. Public questions can also reveal information that should be added to future posts or website pages.
Not every interaction requires a written reply. A simple emoji comment may only need a like, and repeated spam, scams, abusive messages, or unsafe requests can be hidden, reported, restricted, or blocked according to the platform’s tools and the business’s moderation policy. Sensitive order, payment, medical, financial, or personal information should be moved to a private and secure channel rather than discussed publicly.
Set a realistic response standard, such as replying during business hours within a defined time. Saved replies and approved automations can acknowledge common questions, but they should provide a clear route to a person when needed. ViralBulls helps brands organise comments and messages so important leads and service issues receive attention without making every response sound automated.
